Old Town is the old part of Zanzibar City or Stone Town, the largest city in Zanzibar. Here you will find many beautiful wooden doors and alleys that deserve a photo. You can wander around here for hours without a goal. Walk around, browse all the shops and get to know the locals!

If you are looking for souvenirs this is also the right place to go. At the Livingstone restaurant you can sit with your feet in the sand and enjoy the sunset under a beautiful domed tree.

Later in the evening, you can show off your best African dance moves to music from the live band in the accompanying building, where the British consulate used to be.

The Rock is without a doubt one of the most spectacular restaurants in the world. When you see the location of the restaurant, you immediately understand why: The Rock is located on the top of a rock in the sea.

During low tide you can reach the restaurant via the sandy path, during high tide there is a small boat that sails back and forth. Behind the rock – not visible from the beach – is a beautiful terrace where a cool drink awaits you, just like the fresh fish that can be found in abundance on the menu here.

Prison Island a traditional Dhow boat to visit Prison Island. There your guide will introduce you to the giant Agabra tortoises. Interesting fact: the oldest turtle is 192 years old! After visiting the prison you will have some time to cool off by snorkeling. If you want to avoid the crowds, book your tour early in the morning as it is a popular visit from Stone Town.

Jazoni National Park Another spectacle on Zanzibar is the nature and its flora and fauna. For rare animal species, visit the Jozani National Park located in the center of the island. Here you see the red colobus, a type of monkey that you only find on Zanzibar. Walk endlessly through the forests of this lush nature reserve and be amazed. The many are also recommended to visit

plantations in Zanzibar. The island is not called ‘Spice Island’ for nothing, because typical products such as cloves, vanilla, turmeric and ginger come from here.

Diving and Snorkeling The coral reefs off the coast of Zanzibar are among the most beautiful in the world. The Indian Ocean offers an unimaginable diversity of marine life with hundreds of colorful fish species and beautiful coral reefs.

The quiet conditions and good access make Zanzibar an ideal destination for both novice and advanced divers and snorkelers. Diving and snorkeling in Zanzibar is possible all year round. Mnemba island is the best diving and snorkeling location in Zanzibar.

As you have read, Zanzibar has a lot to offer. We are happy to help you book or find a fun activity or must-see, ask our Kiteactive host or manager about the possibilities.
