From the Netherlands you fly via Amsterdam to Athens Airport (ATH), the capital of Greece. There you will have a layover of 3 – 10 hours. Via Athens Airport (ATH) you fly to Város Limnos Airport (LXS) Greece in another 45 minutes. The outward journey takes a total of 6.5 hours at the earliest.

The return journey goes via Város Limnos (LXS) to Athens airport (ATH). You have a stop there. The time of the stopover can vary between 3 hours and 20 hours. Ferry to Lemnos

If you don’t mind taking a long trip by car, then you should definitely consider it. Once on the island you no longer need to rent a car. Depending on the point of departure, the journey from Central Europe consists of a drive of 2000 to 3000 km. There is a ferry crossing from Kavala to Myrina that takes about 3.5 hours. The total travel costs vary between 250 – 350 euros depending on the car. With a family of 4 and vacations longer than a week, this is a significant option that provides quite a bit of savings.

During the holiday period there is a ferry almost every day a fast ferry from Kavala. Tickets can be booked in advance via, although the local travel agent or ferry office may have better price options. We recommend not waiting until the last minute – ferries sell out quickly in high season.

By car to Lemnos

Would you rather go to Lemnos by car? Which can! Please note that it is a long journey. The car journey to Greece takes 31 hours. Along the way you will encounter construction sites and toll roads. With a toll you have to pay taxes for using the road. On this route you will encounter four toll roads. Three toll roads in Germany and one in Greece. When you finally reach Greece, it is recommended that you go to Kavala and take the ferry to Lemnos via Port of Kavala .
