Level 6.1 – Long downwinders on your twintip
Are you ready for the adventure?

You don’t just reach this level overnight: for the legendary TV TAS, you first need to prove yourself to the KiteActive team so we know you’re ready for this ultimate challenge. As a 6.1 kiter, you’ve already completed several long downwinders in strong wind and are familiar with the physical and mental challenges that come with it. The goal of this level is to expand your experience with unique journeys like our XXL downwinder in Brazil, or of course the iconic TV TAS in our home waters.

< Level 5 – Independent on the Sea | Level 6.2 – Downwind Waveboard >

When are you at this level?

Downwind!

You’re at Level 6.1 – Downwind Twintip when you’re fully confident and independent on your twintip, even in strong wind and rougher conditions. The key is that you’ve already completed several downwinders of 50 km or more without issues, proving that you can keep up with the pace. You’re not just riding at the back – you show that you can confidently hold your spot in the middle of the group or even up front, with the control and endurance to handle long-distance adventures.

What will you learn?
And what do your sessions look like?

During your sessions, you’ll be kiting mostly on your own and spending lots of hours on the water. We combine this with group theory, personal 1-on-1 coaching, and sometimes a helmet with radio connection for instant feedback. On top of that, we use video analysis to clearly track your progress and work on specific improvements. The most important ingredient, however, is that we’ll safely push you out of your comfort zone – helping you build confidence, learn new tricks, and take your kitesurf skills to the next level faster. Not in the mood for all that and just want to ride and enjoy? No problem!

Where’s the focus
sky high

The focus is on refining your technique and pushing your limits. You’ll learn to read and use the waves – either as ramps for jumps or to surf them – while adding more depth to your jump technique, transitions, and rotations. For those ready to step it up, tricks like darkslides or kiteloops are on the program. The main focus is confident progression: getting stronger at sea, developing your style, and step by step achieving your personal kitesurf goals.
