Kite
What makes Guriú legendary is how it shows you Brazil’s raw, untamed side. The moment you leave the dunes of Jericoacoara behind, you trade tourist crowds for an authentic fishing village where everything revolves around one thing: height.
This Big Air camp isn’t about cruising—it’s about flying. With Guriú’s nuclear, consistent wind and perfect kickers at the river mouth, you’ve got the ultimate playground to level up your loops and push new altitude. And after the session? Quiet mangroves and the warmth of a tight kite community.
Eat. Sleep. KiteLoop. Repeat.

…
Weather & wind
Wind guarantee—on another level
In Guriú the wind machine never turns off. From July to January, the powerful “Alísios” trade winds get accelerated even more by the local geography. Where other spots fade, Guriú only starts to wake up: after lunch the turbo kicks in and you get that perfect, steady pressure for deep loops and maximum height.
Boardshorts & protection
The water stays tropical warm year-round, so your wetsuit can stay at home. But don’t underestimate the Brazilian sun during marathon sessions. A lycra is essential if you don’t want to get cooked while you’re pushing limits.
Pro tip: Grab a lycra at KiteActive. You’ll stay protected from the sun—and look sharp in your Big Air shots.
The trip & program
Go with the flow
As a kitesurfer you live by the wind—you hit the water the moment the conditions are “on”. That’s exactly how our trips work too. You go with the flow. And our flow is… The Wind!
During the Guriú Big Air Camp you’ll stay 7 or 14 nights in a vibe-packed pousada close to the legendary river mouth. Start your day with a fresh breakfast full of tropical energy, while the first gusts already pull through the palms.
In Guriú it’s all about the perfect session. Our coaches tune the daily program to the wind and the tide. Whether you’re working on your first jumps or pushing your loops to 15 meters on the perfect river kickers—the focus is progression. For a switch-up, we’ll send a powerful downwinder past the epic dunes of Tatajuba.
After a full-adrenaline day, the pousada garden is where you reset with an ice-cold caipirinha. This camp is the ultimate blend of hard training and the pure, laid-back rhythm of Brazilian village life.

🚀 Typical day in Guriú – Big Air Camp
08:30 – Fuel Up
We kick off with a solid breakfast packed with protein and tropical fruit. In Guriú you’ll need the energy for what’s coming.
09:30 – Big Air Clinic & Stretch
A quick stretch to wake the body, then a tech talk. We break down take-off timing, board-off basics, or how to finally commit to that loop.
10:30 – Morning Session: The River Mouth
We ride at Guriú’s river mouth. At low tide it’s mirror-flat for perfecting pop; at high tide natural kickers form—your ramp to the biggest boosts of your life.
13:00 – Lunch & Siesta
A nourishing lunch at the pousada or a local shack. Shade, rest the legs, while the wind outside only starts roaring harder.
14:30 – Afternoon Madness: The Secret Spot or Tatajuba
We hop in the 4×4 to nearby lagoons or send a proper downwinder along the coastline towards Tatajuba. The wind is now at full power—the prime time for Big Air filming and coaching moments.
17:30 – Sunset Chill
Back in the village, we toast with an ice-cold Caipirinha to the day’s new records. Sunset over the river and mangroves hits different here.
19:30 – Dinner & Video Analysis
Fresh fish or a classic Brazilian BBQ. During dinner we rewatch the afternoon footage. Nothing teaches faster (or makes you laugh harder) than seeing your own crashes and highs in slow motion.
Evening – Vibes & Strong Stories
Guriú is pure and easy. We chill at the pousada, share tips for tomorrow, or hit a local bar for real Brazilian good times.

Which material to bring?
The wind always blows at least 16 knots and often even harder, around 20 knots. In the afternoon, the wind sometimes drops a bit, so it’s also a good idea to bring larger sizes. The golden rule: bring all the wing sizes you have!
Recommended flights?
From Europe, KLM or FlyTAP are good options. It will roughly cost you between €800 and €1200 round-trip.
How is the group?
Our groups consist of enthusiastic kiters aged 25 to 65. This trip is designed for experienced kiters, so you’ll always travel with like-minded people who share the same passion. More and more women are joining our trips, and we strive for a good 50/50 gender split.
