Location and address
The event takes place at Workum Beach: an iconic spot on the IJsselmeer with plenty of space, wind, and atmosphere. It’s easy to get there and you can carpool with other kiters from the community, making it both fun and practical.
You can stay overnight at Camping Suderse or Welgelegen, just a short distance from the beach.
This way, you’ll be surrounded by like-minded people all weekend and right in the heart of the KiteActive vibe.

Are you a complete beginner or have you been hooked on the wind for years? With us, it doesn’t matter! Our team will take you on a kitesurfing adventure. They’re all-in and don’t focus on an extra hour or two, but rather on progression.

Bad weather or no wind?
No wind? No problem.
If the weather doesn’t cooperate during the season kickoff, we’ll still make it a fantastic weekend. We’ll be wakeboarding, hitting the water, and keeping the energy high on and around the beach.
This weekend is about more than just wind. It’s about kiting together, the community, and kicking off the season the right way.

Never kited before? Then you absolutely must be there.
The season kick-off in Workum isn’t just for experienced kiters. It’s the place to experience the atmosphere, meet new people, and discover why kitesurfing is so much more than just a sport.
You don’t need any skills or qualifications. Come along, watch, hang out on the beach, participate in alternative activities, and soak up the energy of the community.
