KiteActive is more than just a kitesurf festival. It’s a worldwide group of friends who live for wind, freedom, and spending as much time on the water together as possible. This is where the kite lifestyle begins 😉

✅ KiteActive for life

KiteActive doesn’t stop after this weekend.

  • Meet a close-knit, international group of like-minded kiters where lifelong friendships are made.
  • Optional access to regional WhatsApp groups, so you can always hit the water together.
  • Mini events are organized in the Netherlands that you can join. Think of: test events, progression sessions, a festive season closing, or simply kiting together.
  • You can keep developing as a kitesurfer within KiteActive and help us organize out-of-the-box kitesurf events worldwide.
  • Our goal is simple: once you’ve joined us, we’ll do our best to make sure you keep kitesurfing with joy for the rest of your life. KiteActive for life!
  • Anything goes and nothing is required—just chill and kite 🙂

Flight advice & transfer

Best routes

Via Paris (CDG) – Air France
Route: Amsterdam → Paris → Fortaleza
Total travel time: approx. 13–15 hours
Book: https://www.airfrance.nl

Via Lisbon (LIS) – TAP Air Portugal
Route: Amsterdam → Lisbon → Fortaleza
Total travel time: approx. 13–15 hours
Book: https://www.flytap.com

When is the best time to book?
• Ideal booking moment: 8 months before departure
• For October: book between February and June
• For November: book between March and September
• Booking less than 6–7 weeks in advance = often more expensive
• Midweek departures are usually cheaper than weekends

What to expect price-wise (return, economy)
• Good deals: ± €600 – €700
• Most common: ± €750 – €1,000
• Booking late or inconveniently: €1,000+

Boardbag & kite gear – comparison
Air France
• Boardbag = sports equipment
• Max weight: usually 23 kg
• Cost: depends on ticket type (sometimes included, sometimes extra)
• Long boardbags may need to be registered in advance

TAP Air Portugal
• A small kite set sometimes fits within standard checked baggage
• Long boardbags are usually “large sports equipment”
• Cost: approx. €150 per one-way trip
• Registering in advance is strongly recommended

Practical advice
• Compare not only ticket price, but also boardbag costs
• Arrange baggage at the time of booking—leaving it until the last minute can mean the flight is full.
• A slightly more expensive flight with clear baggage rules avoids stress

Eat

Taste the magic of Rafael’s BBQ — a culinary spectacle by the lagoon. Think fresh lobster, the most tender meat you’ve ever tasted, and pure flavor explosions from the grill. All of it under a setting sun, with heavy beats in the background and epic kite sessions on the water.

Eat. Party. Kite. Repeat.

Sleep

In Baleia you’ll find accommodation for every style and budget. From luxury stays with all the comfort to charming, basic spots close to nature. Whether you choose chill & comfortable or pure and simple — you’re always close to the action, the lagoon, and the ultimate kite vibe.

Eat. Sleep. Kite. Repeat.

Kite

Kiting in Baleia is pure freedom. During the day we meet at the lagoon for fun sessions and competitions for all levels—from beginner to pro. The next day we head up the coast together for an epic downwinder and amazing kite sessions on the ocean. Wind, water, vibes — a weekend you’ll never forget.
