Kite
UNESCO World Heritage: the Wadden Sea. A unique kite experience! Discover some of Europe’s best kite spots with a traditional sailing clipper. Together with skipper Roel, we search for the most beautiful kite spots around the Wadden Islands. Miles of wide beaches with great surf and clean waves. When the tide is right, we can even run aground and kite right by the boat in mirror-flat lagoons!

Weather & Wind
Always 5 extra knots on the Wadden
When the mainland goes quiet, the Wadden Sea keeps blowing. That’s why there’s always action. There’s (almost) always enough wind to kite. Got a windless weekend forecast for your favorite spot? Check Terschelling and you’ll want to book your place right away.
The trip
Go with the flow
As a kitesurfer you live with the wind—you move when the waves and the tide are right. That’s exactly how our trips work too. You go with the flow. And with us, the flow is…… The Wind!
What can you expect from our sail & kite Wadden trips?
Expect a weekend full of sailing, kiting, and music. We sail across the Wadden and discover kite spots you don’t know yet: from deserted sandbanks to downwinders along the North Sea coast.
Our Wadden Festival is a unique sail & kite adventure that takes you to the most beautiful and most untouched places in the Netherlands. Away from the crowds, right in the middle of nature.
Running aground on the Wadden? We do it.
Sleeping on a traditional sailing ship from 1900? Absolutely.
Partying with DJs and new kite friends on board? You bet.
Eat together, dance, and kite in places you’ll never forget. This is an experience that will stay with you for a long time.

Questions?
Got a question? We’ve selected a few frequently asked questions for you.
Can I join later or leave earlier?
No problem, but you will have to take the ferry to or from Terschelling/Vlieland yourself to get there!
What if there is no wind?
Are we going to run aground with the boat?
Running aground is a real highlight! We moor the boat on a sandbank and wait for the water to recede so we can kitesurf around the boat! Unfortunately, this doesn’t happen every weekend; it always depends on the wind conditions and the moon phase.
What is the departure harbor and parking
Harlingen – Willemskade is where you’ll find the Manna. It’s hard to miss with all the KiteActive flags. You can park in the large parking lot (there’s often space there) or reserve a spot at the small parking lot (closer to the boat). I would always drive past the boat first, drop off your gear, and then go to the parking lot to park your car!
Can I also join if I’m not kitesurfing?
Absolutely! A few years ago, we launched Kijkactive. This weekend is a fantastic experience for everyone!
Is this trip for beginners?
Sure, the Wadden Sea has some great kitesurfing spots! And it’s a great way to get your first taste of kitesurfing!
